Better Off' Being Quiet: A Day In The Life Of DJ Free Leonard

Film Review by Spice 1: The “Better Off Being Quiet: A Day In The Life Of DJ Free Leonard” (2021 Documentary) is a very interpersonal and interesting look into the efforts of The Human Writes Music Group to invest in those incarcerated and focusing on ways to improve the emotional well being and state of mind of both those incarcerated and those soon to be released prisoners. Throughout time, music which I believe transcends all time and space has a power to shape both mindsets and moods. The fact that DJ Free Leonard is making music both individually and featuring other artists specifically addressing issues of the incarcerated whether for crimes against the state or whether they are being held as political prisoners is a blaring call to all artists to get involved looking at the various injustices served to them and also the way that music and creatives such as artists and others can shape and or change a mentality while in one of the worst possible situations - imprisonment. I highly recommend a look at the documentary and challenge anyone called to serve in the efforts to do so. - Spice 1
